A closer look

The hummingbird version of the arched border panel: four arches, each 16.5 by 11.8 inches, cut in color. Same format and same price as the butterfly four-pack, with birds in flight rather than butterflies. It has no reviews at all, of its own or shared.

  • Nothing has been rated here yet

Both hummingbird packs are without ratings entirely. The butterfly version of the same panel shows 3.8 from four buyers, but that is a different listing and we are not going to lend you its number. Judge this on the design and the dimensions.

  • Birds in flight suit a taller planting

Butterflies sit naturally at the level of a low border. Hummingbirds imply height and movement, which works better in front of a feeder, a flowering shrub or a bed with some vertical interest than along a flat run of lawn edge.

  • Four arches cover about sixty-six inches

Four panels at 16.5 inches give 66 inches of continuous edge, or more if you leave gaps. Measure the bed first — this is the single most common thing people get wrong with border panels.

  • The eight-pack costs less per panel

As with the butterflies, the larger hummingbird pack works out about a dollar cheaper per arch. If the run is longer than five feet, buy that one instead of two of these.
